Selwyn Steyn [b. 1997, South Africa] is an artist with a practice firmly rooted in both architectural theory and architectural practice. Selwyn’s artistic practice is influenced by phenomenological means of understanding space and deploys a rigor in artistic investigation that was formed through architectural education. Selwyn’s artistic practice spans sculpture, installation, painting and drawing. He has exhibited in numerous institutional and commercial spaces both locally and abroad. Selwyn completed his master’s in architecture at the University of Cape Town after which he pursued an executive master’s in digital building design at École Des Ponts ParisTech.
